Do you have a 9 to 5 office job requiring you to dress in "business" attire? So many people feel that business attire means boring attire, but they are W-R-O-N-G!!! I walked into my boss's office today and immediately said, "You're going on the blog!" Andrea knows how to dress with style, but she also keeps it perfectly appropriate:
I immediately thought of the "Sexy Secretary" look of the 50's & 60's. This outfit is absolutely work appropriate, but there is no question that it is all about style, too. It's possible to balance the two, but there are so many people out there who struggle with the idea and don't know how to make it work.
This outfit works for business because even though the print of the top is a tad loud (which I love), the cut is actually quite conservative. It's not skin-tight or low-cut. In fact, the vintage-y tie at the neckline is especially demure. The skirt is also an office-appropriate length, and it's made with a fabric that could easily transition out to dinner with her boyfriend or out for drinks with a friend. The shoes and accessories are stylish, but subdued. If she were to transition this outfit to evening, she could just change out her shoes, add a few accessories and suddenly, it's no longer a business outfit!
Earrings: Forever 21, $4.80
Clutch: Steve Madden, $58
Shoes: Nine West, $89
Bangles: Aldo, $15
Thanks so much to Andrea for her willingness to be featured on the blog! Hope you all enjoyed this post. Feel free to leave a comment telling Andrea how great she looks!
I love Andrea's shoes. Porn Star Librarian is one of my favorite work looks so I really connect with her style and the shoes give it the edge...not so innocent Maryjanes.
ReplyDeleteWow, your boss is so stylish!! I love her outfit, esp the leopard! I agree its hard finding professional looking clothes that are also chic. Sometimes I think it just takes the right accessories. Thanks for sharing inspiration with me on my blog! XOXO
