Here's my outfit for the day and that's right- I want YOU to rate it! Leave me a comment with a score from 1 to 10. I promise I can take it! Maybe you think I need a new hairstyle? Or better shoes (as if)? And the dress? Love it, hate it, indifferent- let me know!
I think the hairstyle is great, and the shoes are bangin.... the dress? Lovin it. This is the anonymous Graphic Designer at AMT. ;)
ReplyDeleteHoly mackerel, lady, but you look so sophisticated and sexy. Your make-up is out of this world (I enlarged the photo). The dress couldn't be a better fit/length/cut. And if this is one of your timed self-photos, then you've nailed the skill of getting posed (and poised!) in front of the camera. My one critique is the brooch. I can't see it too well in the photo, but to me, it seems maybe too heavy for the look? A little too viking for the floral dress? But I'm also less daring than I should be when it comes to accessories.
ReplyDeleteThanks Beth! Actually, the brooch is part of the dress, so taking it off isn't an option! But thanks for the feedback- I guess I'll just be a little viking today! :-)
ReplyDeleteI like the dress and the haircut is great! Maybe a little more smile!?! :)
ReplyDeleteFrom a fan of yours from "back in the day" to a "fan of yours still today"-
ReplyDeleteThe look is awesome.
The ensemble works because YOU make it work. There is so much to be said for your confidence, style, panache and your personal flair.
The shoes (in a word) 'flawless'... the print 'fresh' and 'dynamic' (okay... that is two words)... the hair 'sophisticated'... and (most importantly) the woman WEARING it all-'fabulous'!!!
Thank you for NOT cluttering up the outfit with heavy, clunky jewlery, silly hats or unnecessary accessories... No need to guild THIS lily... and SPEAKING of Lily... All this from 'Uncle Archibald' from your production of "Secret Garden" way back when.
I miss your smile, your personality, your humor and your talent! It was great to hear FROM you and to SEE you looking so 'together' and 'poised' and even a touch 'cheeky'.
I disagree with Beth and think that the brooch is needed to anchor the dress so that the pattern doesn't overwhelm and make the print feel too frenetic.
The shoes especially work because the 40's vintage/romatic feel compliment the dress without making it too costume-y.
NOT THAT THERE IS ANYTHING WRONG WITH COSTUME-Y... I just feel that the outfit hints at(and pays homage to) a simpler, more romantic era without making one feel that one is anachronistically witnessing a lost Andrews' Sister in some bizarre time meld.
ENOUGH! I am rambling and kvetching, already!
WORK it, diva!
Ted
